Dr. L. Dean Knoll is a board-certified urologist in Nashville, Tennessee specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of urological conditions including erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, male and female urinary incontinence, and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH).
As an internationally recognized leader in penile prosthesis implantation and the treatment of men’s sexual health, Dr. Knoll has performed over 7,000 urological prosthetic surgeries including penile prostheses for erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease and urethral slings and sphincters for urinary incontinence.
Dr. Knoll has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters, and he has been a principal investigator in over 110 trials of new devices and pharmacotherapies for various urological disease.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School, Dr. Knoll completed a general surgery internship and urology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
For three decades, Dr. Knoll has lectured and operated throughout the world, lending his expertise to train other urologists. He has performed surgery in every continent across the globe. Through his advanced knowledge in treating complex cases, he has become a major referral site for other prosthetic surgeons.
Dr. Knoll is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Urology. He also holds professional memberships in numerous international and national medical organizations, including the American Urological Association, International Society for Sexual Medicine, and Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
